Hi -

I've been using Pegasus for over 10 years now and am very happy with it. As the years go by, I've replaced computers and added new ones along the way. I have large email lists, distribution lists and lots of saved emails. In the past, I've simply saved the folder onto a disc or other such device, and used them to replace the files on a newly installed program in a new machine. I just rebuilt a machine with Windows XP, and installed PMail 4.51, and tried replacing the files as in the past. It doesn't seem to work this time around, though. Anyone have any advice as to how I can do this? Thanks.

Hi Scott,

copy the complete [MAIL] folder of your previous machine which is located in the [PMAIL] folder into the [PMAIL] folder of your new machine. I've done so and it works. Don't copy the [Progams] folder!

When you now open PegasusMail, you are prompted to enter your user name. Usually all your user accounts and mails within PegasusMail should be available.

Best regards,

Joachim Verhein

Not sure why this did not work, the structure with v4.51 is exactly the same as with earlier v4.x versions.  With WinXP I simply copy the entire mailbox structure, including the program, from one system to the other and then install and upgrade after I am sure the system is working.
