As Paul says, it's a badly formatted message. The log line DATA - 45 lines, 1100 bytes. indicates that Mercury has reached the end of the message. The end of a message body is indicated by sending "<CRLF>.<CRLF>" . Anything received after that will be considered a command and not part of the message.

Im new to Mercury server so this could be a really easy fix!

I cant seem to get the SMTP server to send attachments, I get an error in my mail client that says no network connectivity
and mercury says:

Is there a setting Ive missed to allow attachments to be sent???

It looks like a badly-formed message.  The error '554 Too many bad or unrecognized ...' usually means that something is being sent out of sync.

Turn on session logging in MercuryS configuration to get the whole picture of the conversation with your client.
