Pegasus Mail Suggestions
My personal experience with 4.51 and wish list

Spamhalter does move junk mail into the junk mail folder automatically...

Or are you saying that your installation is broken in some way? Another Windows 7 issue? Poor David Harris. What a headache he must have right now.

I've used Pegasus years ago, then I've switched to Thunderbird. Then I've used Postbox, I loved its interface and some of its features. Now I'm using Pegasus again and I'm rediscovering its great filtering system and its strong anti-spam.

Unfortunately I'm getting some odd issues, perhaps it's due to the fact I'm running it on Windows 7 x64.

1 - The double click on the email rarely opens the message, usually I've to select the message and press enter.

2 - If it crashes or I close it by mistake as it's sending an email, at next start Pegasus download all messages on the server, even message already downloaded. Therefore I've many duplicates.

3 - I've got a draft with no email address in the To field, just text in the body: the draft window looks exactly the same as the queue window thus I've selected and pressed send now on that email from the draft window. Strangely the draft disappeared and I've never found it again.

4 - If on the server I've left many emails Pegasus becomes really slow checking the server for new messages.

As wish list the inline spell checker it's on my top list as most of the current features are yet cool. About the interface I think David is already planning to change it.

Another thing I'd like to see is having emails marked as junk automatically moved to the junk folder - dunno if it's already possible though.
1 - The double click on the email rarely opens the message, usually I've to select the message and press enter.
This is most probably with HTML (or encrypted) messages only in preview mode as Pegasus Mail starts processing the message preview on the first click instead of delaying it until the double click interval expires. I've made a suggestion about how to solve this to David Harris in the past already ...
2 - If it crashes or I close it by mistake as it's sending an email, at next start Pegasus download all messages on the server, even message already downloaded. Therefore I've many duplicates.
Pegasus Mail only deletes messages on the server after sucessfully downloading (all of) them to stay on the safe side with regard to not loosing any. If it happens on sending messages: Do you do a POP3 before sending (this may be required for authentication, but I don't think it's a widespread method anymore) - otherwise I don't quite understand why this would happen?
3 - I've got a draft with no email address in the To field, just text in the body: the draft window looks exactly the same as the queue window thus I've selected and pressed send now on that email from the draft window. Maybe it wasn't saved as stationary but only as a simple saved message? When saving a message you are prompted by a dialog which offers you to explicitely save it as "stationary" which won't get deleted after re-using it.
4 - If on the server I've left many emails Pegasus becomes really slow checking the server for new messages.
Well, I guess this is unavoidable because of the nature of things ... unless there'd be some kind of caching like with IMAP.
Another thing I'd like to see is having emails marked as junk automatically moved to the junk folder - dunno if it's already possible though.
How about creating a filter rule for doing so? Others may be able to provide the details, I don't use Pegasus Mail's built-in capabilities for this - and you should specify what you're referring to: Content control or Spamhalter?

Phoenixart,

Right now this seems a support issue to me and I have opened this new thread in the Community Support forum: http://community.pmail.com/forums/thread/19184.aspx to see if I can help you in any way. Please just provide some more information on what is working and what is not.

Also, I would like to warn you that the filtering rule approach may not work as you expect. Links to more information about the problems are provided in the new support thread.

Cheers - and apologies for moving things around on behalf of you [;)]!

Erik
Yes, I was using the Pop3 method, now I've turned it into a Smtp login. Let's see if that problem happens again...

Well, I've not saved as stationery, but I could see it between several sessions, a part when by mistake I've pressed sent.
I mean it becomes really slow: for example I don't notice the same gap with Thunderbird.

I'm using Spamhalter, the idea of a rule for that could be nice, I'll give it a try.

Thank you Michael
