Greetings,
I have used Mercury for quite a while handling incoming POP3. I'm finally trying to get SMTP (outgoing) functioning direct from me using the SMTP Client (Protocol E - End-to-End) and keep hitting my head again a wall here. Much of the time outgoing mail DOES go, however there are a few domains that are giving me real headaches. The biggest problems are domains like YAHOO.COM and HOTMAIL.COM with GMAIL.COM another that sometimes gives me grief.
My best guess is that I am not identifying myself (server) properly and that these sites are choking on a DNS Reverse Lookup or some such thing...
My system is a Windows XP pro-SP2 with all current pataches...
I have a static IP and am trying to serve mulitple domain names (DiscusDataLtd.NET, HVACmodel.NET)
In the SMTP-E Connection Window I see somehting that I suspect is wrong, but I do not know what to do to correct it. It contains:
Mercury/32 Transport System, Full SMTP Client Module v4.01b,
.
Current name service information:
Host file : C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Domain :
Nameserver 1 : 64.141.171.2
Nameserver 2 : 63.250.246.10
Nameserver 3 : 63.250.224.15
Why is the DOMAIN field empty?

There are a couple of red flag problems with your domains as shown at
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?%26domain%3DHVACmodel.NET and
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?%26domain%3DDiscusDataLtd.NET
The domain DiscusDataltd.net show a critical warning.s how bad MX record and can very easily be the problem
WARNING: One or more of your MX records points to a CNAME. CNAMEs are prohibited in MX records, according to RFC974, RFC1034 3.6.2, RFC1912 2.4, and RFC2181 10.3. The problem MX record(s) are:
smtp.secureserver.net.->smtp.where.secureserver.net.->64.202.166.12
