PMail 4.51 Instant Crash

I suggest you open Windows Explorer and navigate to your NewMail directory. Then rename any files that end with .CNM.   Now try restarting Pegasus Mail. If that works then one of your renamed files is to blame.

Greetings,

I have a copy of 4.51 that keeps crashing for an unknown reason as I try to start it.  I imported the mail box from the prior installation with all the emails and folders.

I also have a copy on a flash drive that keeps asking for a user name and I do not know how to figure out the name that it is looking for.  Any and all assistance would be appreciated.

On a flash drive you must start the program with options: winpm-32.exe -roam -A

Example: (look for your correct directorie) : Create a file: Pmail_USB.cmd with the command:  start Programs\winpm-32.exe -roam -A

Hello Michael,

I am running an AMD Sempron 2300+  CPU  in this system and previously I had no startup problems when I upgraded to 4.51.  The logo pops up for a few seconds then disappears with no explanation.  Is this related to the dll file or something else?

According to The Chiplist it shouldn't be an issue, but if you aren't sure just try the plain Pentium compatible version - but if Pegasus Mail previously started without issues I doubt this is your problem, you would have definitely noticed before. It's probably the everlasting corrupt message in your new mail folder issue.

I am having a similar problem and it started out of the blue. However its not on an usb chip, its on the hard drive. The start up window pops up and crashes basically instantly. I tried installing the latest version and that didn't solve it. I tried renaming the email folder to MAIL2 and that doesnt solve it either. Anyone got any ideas? Any way to make it spit out a log file to see where it is crashing?
