Thank you for your reply, Sharkfin.
Well, I did actually install Pegasus independently on both machines (M1 is a laptop I use in the office, M2 is a netbook I intend using for travelling). I didn't simply copy one to the other. But when I started experimenting with the synchronizer, I sync'd / copied all Pegasus files from M1 to M2 - which, I think, was when my trouble began. I have since on this forum seen that the best way to synchronise Pegasus on two machine is to do a clean install on M2, then copy all files *except PMAIL.INI* across from M1 to M2 ... and synchronise them backwards and forwards in future, except for PMAIL.INI.
So in answer to your question, yes, I want to have Pegasus on both machines, with the same settings and mail. In practice I shall probably work 90% of the time on M1, and only synchronise Pegasus across to M2 the evening before I go off on trips.
Do you still reckon I can just delete the Pmail folder on M2 - then reinstall?
