Then your problem is not Mercury.

Either your firewall or ISP is blocking outbound connections to port 25 or the receiving server is rejecting your connection on account of your IP address.

Easy fix is use MercC to relay via your ISP's SMTP smarthost.

I wasn't able to find an answer to my problem on this forum, although it should not be uncommon. I cannot send mail with MercuryE. The DNS are manually and correctly set.  A log extract:

My internet connection is via a cable modem, but my ISP always designates the same IP address. The same IP address is set in the 'Identify myself as' field too.

I attempt to send a simple email message to my own accounts on gmail, gmx etc. - no success... What can be the problem?

I managed to connect via telnet to some server on port 25, so I guess my ISP is not blocking it, but not to the servers which are resolved as gmail, gmx...?

Turn on session logging (temporarily) for MercE, which will give a transcript of the outgoing SMTP session.

just to add that the mercury.exe instance is in the exclusion list of my windows firewall, and that I set the ip address, dns etc. fix in the network settings.
