How do I configure Mercury under XAMPP. Under XAMPP control panel, I click on Admin and nothing comes up. I am installing Group office and need to setup the SMPT Server information, user info, authentication etc.
The control panel shows that Mercury is running (green color)

Thanks
SJ

Details  about the XAMPP control panel can probably be found on some XAMPP page. If you have more specific questions about Mercury and provide information about your setup you can get help with that here. A good start would be to make sure you have the current version of Mercury and reading relevant part of the enclosed PDF manual. If you search the forums for XAMPP you will find lots of posts about common configuration errors and how to solve them.

I have a XAMPP test setup running here and if I hit Admin the Mercury GUI interface comes up to allow the program to be configured and managed.  If nothing comes up when you hit Admin then you might be running Mercury as a service and as a service there is no GUI interface.

Thomas,

Thank you, when I uninstalled the service and then started Mercury as an application, I have access to the control panel.

isnt there any chance to open the gui in service mode ? i used to watch if emails are coming and if my blacklists work at the gui [:'(]

or do i need to disable the service , config and watch via gui and then reenable service ? would be kinda uncomfortable  [:'(]

The service can interact with the desktop and show the GUI in versions of Windows that allows this (up to XP), but if you close it down you won't be able to re-open it until the service is restarted. A full remote administration interface is planned for the next major release of Mercury.

so w2k3 dont allows this ?? because i cant find anything of the gui even if i restart the service ... :(

also in w2k3 the service is started with the "system" account and when i go to the mercury dir i can start the gui but with my logged on user account , so mercury exe is opened twice and i cant see any activity because the port is in use ...

As Windows 2003 Server is the server equivalent of XP it should behave the same way. However:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms683502%28VS.85%29.aspx:

All services run in Terminal Services session 0. Therefore, if an

interactive service displays a user interface, it is visible only to

the user who connected to session 0.

You can for instance use VNC to remote control session 0.

If you want to start Mercury in application mode you should stop the service first.
