Trouble sending mail??

Alright, I removed the 20 record. Now that I'm back in the office I will be checking Mexico's outlook settings. I will post back when finished.

Thanks again Thomas.

Hello...

I've been able to get sending and receiving mail taken care of in our main office using Mercury 32 v4.72 and MS Outlook (To both internal and external email addresses...). However, when our machines in Mexico try to send emails (They receive emails fine) they get errors and messages stuck in their outbox. Please let me know what information you need provided to give support. I understand this original post is quite generalized, but I will be checking back periodically today for replies to get the issue solved.

Also, Could this by chance be a reverse DNS problem? I am still waiting on my ISP to update that information.

Thanks

Hard to say what is happening but I would setup port 587 with ESMTP Authorization on the MercuryS server and tell the people in Mexico to use this sever and the proper authorization when sending the mail.

Thomas,

Thanks for the help. To do this I would setup port 587 as an alternate port in MercuryS Correct? (And of course adjust my port forwarding and windows firewall respectively?)

Correct, this will bypass most port 25 blocking.

Great I have made the appropriate changes and will have the team in Mexico try it out. I will post with my results later. Thanks again for the help Thomas.

It appears to have not worked as I had hoped. Thomas, please let me know what information you would need from me to do any troubleshooting.I have attached my mercury.ini configuration already to give some base info.

Could you provide a MercuryS session log of one of the attempts from Mexico?

Thomas, please let me know what information you would need from me to do any > troubleshooting.I have attached my mercury.ini configuration already to give some base info. Could you provide a MercuryS session log of one of the attempts from Mexico? > I trimmed out all the stuff that does not pertain to receiving mail. > [General] > myname:          borderstatestech.com    # Canonical name for this server Any reason you have 3 MX hosts all pointing at the same host? I will admit some confusion on my end when setting up the MX Hosts... I removed the 50 one, but should I remove one of the other two?

Thomas, I checked the log and It doesn't even show up. I think he has his configuration in Outlook wrong... I will get in a remote connection with his machine to correct any outlook troubles and retry. I will let you know what happens

You only need a MX record for a host that has a different IP address.  The MX host pointing to the same server is a good idea since some hosts do not trust hosts that have no MX record even though the RFC's allow this.   I would only have the one MX host using the 10.
