Thank you for that. I've successfully made the changes in the
requisite folders but cannot get the program to operate in anything
other than standalone mode. I've selected all 3 options when it
initialises for the fist time, checking the file in "Help", "About",
"Info".
Is there a specific place to amend in the ini files to change a setting?
I note in the PMAIL.INI files the question "Running in Standalone Mode?" = N
If you are not running with Netware you are running in the standalone mode. This does not need to be changed. You do need to note the current HOME and NEW mail directory and verify that there is a pmail.usr at the top of the mailbox structure and that there are multiple mail user subdirectories. The basic Multiuser structure is
C:\pmail\programs the PMail programs
C:\pmail\mail the pmail.usr file
c:\pmail\mail\user1 the PMail user directories
.
.
c:\pmail\mail\user_n
With this setup when you run pconfig.exe from the c:\pmail\programs directory you will see c:\pmail\mail\~8 for the Standalone HOME and NEW mail directory spec.
The pmail.usr file looks something like
A;Admin;Mail Administrator
A;thomas;Test User
The A is for an admin user, the U will be used for a normal user.
What should this be changed to?
Will this make a difference?
Thanks again
Mark
