Need help with mercury

Hi Guys,

I just tested telnet to port 25 again and it is working from external. I think that the issue could of been the fact that I changed the mx record to point directly to the mercury box. The records must not of been updated at the time i was testing the ports externally.

 Best regards,

Troy

Hi,

I have setup mercury and everything works fine. However I would like to point my mx records to my public ip. I opened port 25 on my router and forwarded it to the local pc's ip. I have already changed the mx record to point to my dyndns address. I can telnet to port 25 when i am on the local network but cannot telnet to port 25 from outside the network. What do i need to change in mercury in order to be able to telnet from external networks?

 Best regards,

Troy

Obviously Mercury/32 is setup correctly since you can telnet into port 25.  The problem is one of having your router forward the port 25 requests received from the outside to the IP address of the system running Mercury/32.  Verify the the port forwarding is setup properly and that the firewall/router is not blocking port 25.

It's always possible though that your ISP is blocking port 25.
