AW: " and @ reversed in Pegasus
I've obviously pressed some weird sequence of keys and changed some settings, but I can't find anything obvious - does anyone have any ideas?
AFAIK it's <Alt>+<Shift> to change the keyboard-layout.

If you do not need any other layout than the UK-one, you should think about removing all others via region- and language-options in the system settings. If only one layout is set, the annoying taskbar-thing will disapear too.

Hi,

I am using a UK keyboard with the " above the 2.  I have been using Pegasus for years and suddenly today these two key functions are reversed so SHIFT+2 gives @.  This problem only occurs in Pegasus, no other programs are affected.

Many thanks.

I used to get this periodically, usually when system and PMail had been up and running all day.  (UK keyboard, Win XP Pro)  I've never been able to pin down what causes it:  it was random and infrequent.  Very occasionally the same thing affected other programs at the same time.  Fix for me was simply to close and reopen PMail;  I rarely needed to reboot the PC.  Since getting a faster PC with the 64-bit version of Win XP, I have hardly noticed it happening, though I think it has happened maybe once or twice in six months.

Would be curious to hear a proper explanation and fix.

David

I've never had this happen so it is just a shot in the dark.

When you install Windows, it starts with the US keyboard as default. Adding the UK one doesn't in itself remove the US one (the one with the @ symbol on the 2 key). If two or more keyboard setups are installed within Windows, there is a key combination which switches between them. There may also be a language toolbar on your desktop - most likely beside the system tray - where the language code is displayed.

To check your computer for this, go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages tab > Details button.

The screen that comes up shows you what keyboard setups are installed and lets you delete any you don't want. If you leave only one, you cannot change to another accidentally.

As I've said, this might not be your problem but it's worth a check, huh?
