AW: AW: AW: AW: Pmail Icon (little pegasus horse) lost
Not sure what you mean about what you did.
Right-click on the taskbar, go to the settings (preferences?) and play around with the settings for icons and grouping.

I ve no Vista running, maybe someone with an english Vista can give exact advise on how these items are called.

I run Pegasus on a network where the program is situated on a separate machine. I recently went away with my laptop for a while. Now when I return, the shortcuts to my mail have lost the icon.

I have done a right click and change icon and clicked on the horse that I see there, but it never seems to change. I changed it o a different icon, which showed fine. Then when I tried to change back to Pmail icon, it is once again back to the not found icon default.

How can I get this back again?

Cheers!

Ellie

On your laptop is just a link, Pegasus Mail itself is on the server?

IMHO the Pegasus you see is just a cached copy on your machine and the source is gone or has moved to a different (network-) path. Maybe the target got a new IP from DHCP?

Is the link to Pegasus Mail still working, despite the missing icon?

Yes you have it.

It is possible that the target has a new ip address as the server machine (where Pmail program is residing) was closed while we were away with the laptop. The link works fine, just no icon. I have pointed it to the win-pm32.exe file, no change. Also clicked on the little Pegasus icon showing in the shortcut icon section. No change there.

I have also restarted the laptop after the server machine was started, several times. No change.

I just experimented, creating a new shortcut on my desktop. The icon appeared as expected. I moved the shortcut to the taskbar where the others reside, and it lost the icon.

EDIT: I have also found that the spell check is not found any longer either.

Uhm... Win 7?

Pegasus Mail-spell check?
No, Vista.
Shouldn't matter, Win 7 is just a SP for Vista anyway.

I had a similar problem. I found that Win stores the Icons for the taskbar somewhere different, and I couldn't find that "somewhere". So I played around with the settings for the taskbar, switched random-headless to small icons and changed grouping and labeling for the taskbar – and by a miracle the icon reappered. Never mind.
Yes, Pegasus Mail spell check.
I do not use it due to beeing available in English only. My guess is that it can't be found at the location expectet. Maybe -roam is still set on laptop?

Roam has never been set on the laptop. The shortcut has only ever pointed to the server where Pegasus resides.

For travelling I have Pegasus installed on a USB key. I click on the Pegasus mail on the USB to launch it. It works the same when I plug it into a different computer altogether. Nothing to do with the laptop.

The strange thing is that this shortcut icon has worked fine until I returned from being away (when I was away the icon couldn't be found, obviously, as the laptop was not on the network.)

Not sure what you mean about what you did.

Thanks anyway for your thoughts on it.
