Display annotations in folder view columns (along with From, Subject etc)
Some others have requested this too (I supported one of the posts). The annotations could contain brief notes about what needs to be done about an email sometime, subject keywords or tags, summary of important points or key information in the email etc.
Add an indexed search engine
The recently added pegasus search engine is okay but it is far too slow to be used as a matter of course. Colleagues using outlook and other email software with previously indexed searching swear by its importance, it provides instant responses to searches. It is true that once I started using desktop search on my hard drive it was within days something I could not live without. Copernic desktop search provides a good alternative to google and their site makes available software to add other software to its search engine. I considered this but one would need to understand very well pegasus folder and email structures. And to be honest I would never find the week or two it might take.
Beef up the email header colouring
This is a facility in pegasus that no other package I know of has, and it sat there unused for the 10-12 years that I have been using pegasus. Then for some reason I decided to try it. It is superbly brilliant and useful. All the messages I MUST deal with are coloured bright red. Those that should be dealt withi but arent life and death, are light red. Those that have important information in them, a useful reference for the future, are green. Blue means they contain management records, eg. a receipt, that shouldnt be lost or deleted. One could systematise this within pegasus so that a user defines the meanings of colours, and give short cut keys to them. Colours have reminded me of numerous things I might otherwise have forgotten.
