Trouble with setting up email settings

Have you looked at the port and security settings for your pop3 and smtp hosts? Seems you have to check Via direct SSL connect in both cases. Hope this helps.

I am having trouble with Pegasus’ email settings but have found no help for this problem in The Pegasus Mail Online Knowledgebase, so I am asking for help from you. This format does not allow me to send email with inserted screen shots, so I will try to attach them.

Here is a screen shot of the settings that work in Outlook 2003:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

The Outlook email is hosted at http://HostGator.com. Here is what they give as setup specifications:

 

 Mail Server Username: alva+thefrequenttravelersclub.com
Incoming Mail Server: mail.thefrequenttravelersclub.com
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) *.hostgator.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.thefrequenttravelersclub.com (server requires authentication) port 26
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) *.hostgator.com (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

I have used the same password for attempting to set up Pegasus that was used in setting up the HostGator email account.
