Submit Form from Adobe Acrobat

Does your default browser invoke Pegasus Mail when you try to email an html page?  It seems Adobe Forms is trying to use your browser to do the mailing (via the Mailto protocol).

I am trying to submit a form from acrobat 9 and have it use Pegasus as the default mail client. When I click the submit form button and select the option "Desktop Email Application", I will get the error message "An error occurred while sending mail." from Acrobat.

In the properties for the submit form button, the URL I'm using is in the format of mailto:emailaddress@domain.com. If I copy and paste the mailto URL out of adobe into a word document, and click on it, it will create a new message in pegasus, to the correct email address.

I am also able to create an "Attach to Email" button in acrobat, execute it, and it will attach the pdf document by creating a new message in Pegasus with the attached PDF file. The difference is, the Attach to Email button will not populate the To: field in the new message, which is one of the feats I would like to accomplish.

Before getting to the point I'm at now, I had installed the MAPIPM 1.7.6 extension to our pegasus directory. Anyways I did not see any information regarding the submit form button in the help file for MAPIPM, and could not find anything searching online either. It may just be what I want to do does not work, however its frustrating as it is so close to working!

 Thanks for any input...

Hello,   when you installed MapiPM did you use the SetReg procedure to update your Windows Registry?  If you did, are you seeing a Pegasus Mail "Compose a message" screen when you choose "Send..." in Adobe?  This will indicate that Mapipm is working with Pegasus Mail. You should also set up a file, Mapipm.log in your Newmail directory to trace the activity.

Hi

I set the registry manually, however when I use the send to feature in windows, or even the email button in adobe acrobat, Pegasus will open and compose a email with an attachment.

The only scenario where it does not work is while using a submit form button in adobe, which as far as I can tell will not work. The part that bugs me though, is the submit button in adobe appears to just use the function mailto:address@domain.com and in all other circumstances that works with the mapipm addon...

Also I created a log file, however nothing has been generated in it...

Thanks again.
