A Couple of Questions from a New User

[quote user="Ludwin"]Is there any way to add a "To"-tab in the listing to see and sort the messages by addressee?

Or is there some way to add the "To: [addressee]" caption to archived outgoing mails and to make it visible in Pmail?

I see that no-one has replied to these two questions of yours, which is a bummer, because I'm just as interested in knowing this as you are. I've also got a pile of sent Thunderbird mail listed in a Pegasus Mail folder under the sender's name, i.e. me :-)

Cheers!
Steffan

Hi,

before I start, here's a short overview over my setup:

Mercury 4.72 running MercuryS,C,D,I on a dedicated machine.

2 pegasus (formerly outlook express (i know, dont say it)) users. 3 imap users on the server (2 personal, 1 shared). both clients run windows7 1x 4.51 (german) and 1x 4.52 (en)

now i want to use pegasus for handling all the mail that comes through here, but some questions/problems have arisen. I'm just gonna ask everything here, for some i found threads already but those didn't offer any solutions:

1. there are a couple of messages flagged as "urgent" appearing red and on top of the mail listing, is there any way to unflag those? i read that flags arent supported in pegasus as of 2008 wondering if there's been an update on that.

2. is there a way to set the behaviour of the "forward" button similar to the reply button? i.e. i'd like to have a "quick forward" feature with some default settings like you can set on the quick reply tool.

3. looking at my imap folder list i'd like to hide a few of them vom view, without deleting, is there a way to do this? in oe you could just "unsubscribe" and it would dissapear from the folder listing

4. is there a way to change the layout of the preview pane so it's displayed to the right of the folder/message list? i have a widescreen tft and alot of space to the right just gets wasted. saw it on windows live mail and kinda liked it.

5. searching in imap-folders yields no results, ever

6. i only have imap accounts an no lokal pop3, can i get rid of the "my mailbox" structure somehow?

7. related to the last question: oe used to put my sent mails into a "sent mail" folder, now they land in "copy to self" but i cannot set the target folder to the imap directory, is there a way to do this?

8. will there be a german version for windows 7 out soon?

thanks in advance!

cheers,

phil

Hi Phil,

answer to your Q. 1:

In Pmail 4.51, right-click on the urgent message, click "Message-properties", toggle "Is urgent".

May I add another question?

I converted 8 years of email from Outlook Express thru Netscape Mail to Pmail (please, no nasty comments) and now all archived outgoing messages are listed with the senders' address and not with Pmails' "To: [addressee]" caption.

Is there any way to add a "To"-tab in the listing to see and sort the messages by addressee?

Or is there some way to add the "To: [addressee]" caption to archived outgoing mails and to make it visible in Pmail?

Thanks for suggestions,

Ludwin

Hi Ludwin,

unfortuneatly, clicking message properties does nothing. I read somewhere that message flags are not supported in Pegasus on IMAP folders, maybe thats why?

another Question just popped up: can you enable word wrapping as default for incoming mail, replying etc.?

Cheers,

Phil
