Anyway, I took a backup, deleted state.pmj and it looks like all my settings regenerated just fine, so I think I'll leave it at that.

 I think this happened when my display driver went wonky -- windows gave me an error message about the driver not responding correctly anymore, and defaulted to something like 640x320 resolution. I'm guessing that when the screen redrew and Pmail had to render the list for that size, it could only fit in the From column, and dropped the others when I exited.

 Is there any chance that's what happened? It's the only unusual behavior on my PC I can remember that corresponds at all to the time I lost the other columns

In the preview list window there are the headers that say From, Date/Time, Size, Subject... Well, all I have now is From. This happened while using 4.42, and is still happening with 4.52. I assume there is a file in the profile settings that will fix this, but I'm not familiar with them enough to know where to look. Help please?

This data is held in the folders section of state.pmj in your home mail directory.  Right click on the folder to get the folder name and then edit the state.pmj with an ASCII editor and fix the setting following the folder name.  Here's a snippet of some good settings.

35BJO1Q0:02BA:main=10,10,510,360,"0,0,0,0,0,0"
New mail=5,5,492,347,"120,180,94,0,34,0"

Looks like something else is going on. I set the folders to = 10,10,510,360,"0,0,0,0,0,0" but still only see From. Actually, there is also a small column that has the attachment symbol and checkboxes, if that's significant.

Nope, the columns are stored in the state.pmj.  Did you exit PMail before making the change to the state.pmj?
