Is the StartCom SSL root certificate already included in Pegasus?

Is this a no?

Does Pegasus use the certification store from Windows?[/quote]

Don't confuse SSL/TLS with S/MIME, they are separate issues with regard to Pegasus Mail: The former is dealt with as Thomas wrote, i.e. Pegasus Mail does not need any locally stored certificates for using SSL/TLS, and if you want to use S/MIME you need to install a respective extension - which in fact uses the Windows certificate store.

Hi,

as you maybe know Thawte stopped their free Class 1 WoT SSL certificates to sign emails in the end of last year.

As far as I know right now there are only CACert and StartCom offering free S/MIME certificates. The CACert is AFAIK not included in any mail client, so its pretty useless since it will always result in an error by default. The StartCom certificate, however, is already included in Microsoft Outlook on WindowsXP+ as well as in Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0+.

Now I would like to know if Pegasus already supports the StartCom Root CA or if there are plans to do so in the future?

Best,

cider

Not sure what you mean.  WinPMail uses the certificates provided by the server it connects to.
