The debugger usually creates an autosaved Pegasus Mail message which should simply be sent to the beta-reports address supplied therein. But you may send it to idw.doc[at]t-online.de instead.

I and others who I know have Win XP with SP2 or SP3, with Pegasus installed. If such systems have the option activated to have several languages available via an icon near the clock, then when opening incoming email, Pegasus crashes. I've informed David Harris about this over the last few years, the problem still exists in the latest version of Pegasus. A fix would be appropriate. Thank you.

Can you please be more specific? What languages, more than two? Is a switch between left-to-right and right-to-left languages involved? Do you need to switch languages while Pegasus Mail is running or does it happen without switching? Does the crash occur with a certain kind of messages only (HTML-formatted, e.g.)? Does it not happen when opening mails from an existing folder other than new mail? Can you run my crash dump extension for testing?

Just two languages in system: English and Hebrew. Yes, Hebrew is right to left and English is left to right, so switching directions is involved, although when opening an English only email, with the system language set to English, Pegasus crashes in its last few releases, this was never a problem before. The problem happens without any language switching = opening an email crashes Pegasus. It seems that the crash happens to all emails, not only those formatted HTML.
To reply to your last two items, crashing when opening email in folder other than new mail, and run your crash dump extension, I will have to install a newer version of Pegasus and try to see what happens, then get back to you. I will try for this week.
Thank You
Dan
Sorry for the delay in replying, extended period of illness, better now. I did the following: Installed Pmail 4.41 to partition not used before for Pegasus. Installed the crash dump, ran Pegasus, it crashed as previously reported, but the crash dump utility did NOT intervene as it should have. Then upgraded to 4.52, Pegasus still crashes, but dump did NOT intervene. I'm at a loss as to what to do now, please help. As I mentioned previously, its not just my computer, I've installed Pegasus on the computers of a few friends who also run with dual languages, the same problem is encountered in every such case. If I'm able to do this, as a mere amateur, likely those who are well beyond me should be able to do the same. Windows has built in a feature to add languages, this since Win98. Perhaps if you do this yourself, you will see for yourself exactly the problem.
What is this Icon you refer to? Is it a keyboard switch or font change or both ? Can you get Pegasus Mail started, and is it only when you try to open a message that a crash occurs? Are you running in Preview mode?
I know of several people who use right-to-left (RTL) language without any real problems, so I suspect it is the switcher that is introducing some instability.
Can you forward me a copy of one of these messages (send to irelam@telus.net)?
Martin

Try using the extension in "stand-alone" mode: The ReadMe-file explains how to do it and what it means, the easiest way to use it is by just clicking the Pegasus Mail Debugger entry in MiniDump's Start menu group. If doing so it'll launch the most recently used version of Pegasus Mail automatically.

Martin, if using multiple languages in Windows you can have an icon displayed next to the system clock which enables you to easily switch languages without using a keyboard shortcut, see below for how it looks on my Win 7 taskbar.

Hopefully I've finally got some helpful info on Pegasus crashing.
Here is what I did: Installed Pegasus 4.52 fresh copy, Installed
Pegasus Mail Debugger. Ran Pegasus from the Stand Alone option in
Pegasus Mail Debugger.
This time there are results from the crash, in the debugger. This
includes 5 files, including the message that caused the crash. I can't find a way on this site to send those files to you, please tell me how to do so
Thank you
