I'm resuming this old thread just because I was hitting the wall tonight trying to forward a msg and I've found out that the queue window doesn't refresh when it come to forwards...

Hope this bug will be fixed in the next rel.

Hello,

why do I not see the messages I want to forward in the Queue Manager? I am using the standard option "Edit or make changes to the messages before forwarding them".

thank you

Daniela

Why would you want to queue the messages you want to forward first? Using the option you mention, a new message window will open in which you can type the text you wish to add and then click send.

Cheers!

Hello Steffan,

I need to see the queued messages in the outbox because sometimes I need to check whether the addresses are correct, or to change the message I edited.

What I'd like to do is see them in the queue, with all other regular messages, and be able to open them again if I want to.  The problem is after I click send they disappear

ciao

 Daniela,

  • Under "Tools -> Internet Option" select the "Sending (SMTP)" flap.
  • In the bottom section there is a checkbox called "Send mail at once without placing in a queue". Disable it (Remove the tick).

This options places all messages, including forwarded ones, into a queue. You may access that queue and the messages (including editing) through the menu "File -> Review queued mail"

To finally send them all at once you have of course to hit "Send all queued mail" button or menu.

I have created a button and placed it in the button line to more easily access the mail queue.

Is this what you were looking for?

Thomas

PS: PM does not have an OUTBOX icon in the left folder pane - maybe something to consider for the next version ?

good morning Thomas and thank you for your answer.

The check-box you  mention is already disabled in both my identities, I had checked :(((

It's really strange because I can see all other queued emails in the Queue manager window. Actually, I keep it open at all times, as a very small window, so I have an overlook on the mail I send without "surprises".

Hi Daniela,

Your above section "I keep it open at all times" actually brought the clue ...
For whatever reasons the Queue Manager window does not seem to refresh its content when a message is being forwarded!  However, it does it correctly when other messages such a new ones or replies are sent. Your forwarded message is actually in the queue but it does not show. You have to close and reopen the queue window to make it visible.

It actually shows in the status bar as the number of queued messages is counted up by one e.g. 130 new; 1 queued. I gues, it's most likely a 'minor' bug? Maybe someone else can confirm?

Open the empty Queue Manager window and leave it open
[1] Send a new message
[2] Send a forwarded message
[3] Send a reply
[4] Send another new message

So you see:
[1] shows
[3] shows
[4] shows

Close and reopen the Queue Manager window and you see
[1] shows
[2] shows
[3] shows
[4] shows

Cheers

Thomas-M.

Yes, I can confirm that this happens to me too. I have always just reopened the folder to work around it.

Hello Thomas and thank you, in fact that's the problem. I closed and re-opened the Queue Manager window and there it was, figuring however as a message in final form.

Can you please tell me how to create the button for quickly seeing the outgoing mail, or is it something very complicated?

Thank you very much

Daniela

You need to use the toolbar.pm to create a button on the toolbar.  It's not rocket science but it does take a bit of work.  Read the bpanel.txt in the resource directory for details.

Checkout Han v.d. Bogaerde's Pegasus mail Links at http://www.vandenbogaerde.net/pegasusmail/
He has provided a lot of information on Pegasus Mail for Windows including the codes to be used with toolbar.pm.

Hi Daniela,

... I agree, it takes some time and effort to get into it ... However, maybe you are happy with my version which is based on the default and the description by David Harris? Try the following and it only takes 5 minutes ;-) .

All you need is a simple text file with the snippet further down in your PM email (data) directory. That's it!

Do the following

  • Close PM

Create toolbar which includes the "Open Queued Message Window Button"

  • Open text editor (such as Notepad)
  • Copy the code section (snippet ) below into the editor.
  • Save the file under the name of "toolbar.pm" into your email data directory.
  • Restart PM and the new toolbar should be active.

Change or deactivate personal toolbar

  • If you are not happy with the result, change or add the section in the "toolbar.pm" file as described in the "bpanel.txt" and as to the references on Han's pages. I have also summarised some icons under:
  • To revert back to default, just move that file "toolbar.pm" out of your email directory or rename it.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Thomas
