Error Message - Probable invalid offset in index record
I am getting this problem when deleting messages from my "New Mail" folder: "** Probable Invalid offset in index record".  I have read the help text but can'tsee how to re-index the New Mail Folder?  Any help greatly appreciated.
It is probably the Deleted messages folder that has the problem.  Try reindexing that one.

I keep getting the above message every time I close the new mail and main folders.  For example, if there are 5 messages in either folder, the error message will appear 5 times. I have tried re-indexing but end up with all the deleted messages plus copies of existing ones!  The folder then becomes extremely full.

I am running AVG Internet Security V. 9 and wonder if this is conflicting.

Any advice greatly appreciated.  Thanks

A colleague of mine had the same problem. I fixed it by re-indexing the folder and deleting all messages that had resurfaced. I've been dealing with this problem before and tried several things then, from re-indexing the mail folder to checking its consistency and creating a new folder and copying/moving messages. I don't know whether there is a straightforward, reliable method to solve this issue, but I ultimately solved it in this sort of hit and miss manner. Good luck.

Cheers!

The main folder is the problem, the new mail folder will never give this error since there is no index.

1.  Move all the messages you want to save to a temp folder and
delete all the messages in the original folder.

2.  Use the right click "recover deleted space" to remove all
    messages form the folder.

3.  If step 2 works then simply move all of the messages from the
temp folder back to the original folder and delete the temp
    folder.

4.  If step 2 fails then delete the original folder and rename the
temp folder to match the original name.  Reset the filter
    pointing to this folder.

Possible it's caused the original corruption if it's fighting Pegasus Mail for access to the files.  You need to exclude at least your folder files from the sort of access.
