Mercury32 / Me and the future..

I'm at a point when I need to upgrade my server. It's old, tired and needs a bit of help. ( a bit like me ! )

So now I'm deciding do I just back up my Mercury32 configuration and move it across, or do I look at other solutions !!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to look at a colleagues new system, which is running hMailServer.

I had looked at this in the past and never found it very easy to work with.

Looking at it again made me wonder whether it is time to move on.

So now I have a few questions...

What are the future plans for Mercury32 ?
Is it still being actively developed ?
Will we see new features being added ?
Or do we have what we have and that's it ?

Please don't think I'm knocking Mercury32. I've been using it for years and find it to be stable and very reliable.

BUT it is missing support for some features and that is making me wonder which way to go.

I welcome anyone's advice on this.

Thanks

The entire MailStore for both Mercury/32 and Pegasus Mail is being revamped.  This will allow a lot more direct access to the mail boxes and this system should be able to talk to more mailbox systems like the Outlook PST file.

Yes.

Yes

Is it likely to include SPF and IMAP filtering ?

Cheers

No idea other than he just got MailStore working with PMail v2.0 folders. Next is UNIX folders and then the new IMAP client.

Is it likely to

include SPF and IMAP filtering ?

The IMAP filtering and server side sorting probably, the SPF I doubt it since it breaks so many things in normal SMTP mail.  This is from David's recent (25 march) message to the testers.

"IMAP is where MailStore is *really* going to reap benefits, from the redesigned abstractions it provides: they will allow me to do a lot of IMAP protocol-level optimization that simply hasn't been possible prior to now - things like server-side sorting, message part retrieval and fast intra-mailbox moves and copies."
