Thanks for the tip. When I highlight the attachment and click Open, the viewer is invoked.

It seems to have something to do with the size of the attachment. I tried a pps file of size about 1 MB, and I can double click to open it. For a 5MB file, I have to highlight and click Open on the toolbar.

I am using Windows XP and Pmail 4.52. When I receive a large attachment such as a WMV or PPS file, I click the attachment tab and double click the file. Nothing happens, so I store the file in a temporary folder, go to the folder, double click, and XP invokes the program handling the application.  For Pmail  Tools > Options > Incoming Mail > Content Viewers, I added PPS filetype and pointed to PowerPnt.exe. Still nothing happens in Pmail when I double click the attached file.

 Any suggestions about what I'm doing wriong?

Paul, did you ever get this figured out.  I'm also brand new to Pegasus (thanks windows 7) and having the exact problem you are with a pps file.  If you have found a solution please post it here and if I get it figured out I'll do the same.

I was able to save the pps file to my desktop and then view it [:D]  Of course I had forgotten to install my pps viewer program but after installing that it worked fine [:$]  I don't have any idea why I have to save it before viewing it... it would seem to me that viewing attachments is a pretty basic part of modern email.  I have found in my wanders that the problem usually lies between the keyboard and the chair.

 Anyone out there care to address this issue?

Not sure if this is the solution, but ...

Try going to Tools|Options|Incoming Mail|Content Viewers.  From there, add an entry for the file types you are having trouble with.  If you are sure the correct program is already designated in Windows, you should be able to just select the "Let Windows choose ..." button.  If that doesn't work, you can select the specific program to use.  Then click on "OK" and "Apply."

I have also noticed (at least in 4.5.2 on a Windows 7 machine) that double clicking on the attachment file doesn't always work, but highlighting it and clicking on the "Open" button usually does.  Good luck!
