Low Vision use?

Trust me, I've changed all possible Windows settings to larger fonts.

This client uses a much more comprehensive magnifying program than Windows' magnifier - but it doesn't help to have some text tiny and some big enough to read...

I am investigating Pegasus Mail for a client who has vision difficulties.  (we say low-vision here...)

By changing my windows font settings, I can get the menus to be large.

By changing the Options, I can get the message font, folder font, and list font large.

I can't find any way to change the font size of the buttons or the toolbar or the headings of the list columns.

This is important because windows Live Mail is so horrible in Windows 7 - we need a good alternative for low-vision users.

Has anyone overcome this yet?  Do you have any suggestions?

thanks,

Jon

Under Control Panel select Display/Appearance/Advanced  and select object from list called "item:"   List Columns are under control of programs and can probably be changed under Display/Appearance then click on Font Size which allows general font size changes.

Good Luck!!

I'm not the OP, but I have the same issue.  In Win7 Pro, I'm not seeing that path in the Control Panel Display window.  Would appreciate a pointer.  Thanks.
I hope someone else who is running Win7 can help you
Thanks, I finally found it: Control Panel=>Personalization=>Windows Color=>Advanced Appearance Settings.  The OP may wish to play with the parameters here, although I've yet to find any setting that magnifies the tiny font that appears in some Pegasus windows, eg. the one that queries whether there's mail on the server.

Also of use might be the magnifier utility that comes with Win7, and the individual program compatibility settings where there's an option to automatically revert the screen resolution to 640x480 when firing up the program.  (That causes horrendous magnification when you've an optimized HD display.  If there were a Win7 setting to change that default to a resolution of one's choosing... cool beans.)  There are one or two other compatibility settings that may be useful for small font issues.  I suspect, unfortunately, that the real issue has to do with the way the font implementation in Pegasus interacts with OS font control.  I believe David Harris has commented on this elsewhere.  I hope it can be addressed at some some point.

Having said all that, as a long time user, I wish to assert my great appreciation for this program, and my admiration for the service that David Harris has afforded the wired world.  -Ron
