Can Pegasus use a mail proxy

Pegasus Mail uses proxy servers all the time.  The products AVG and Norton AV set themselves up between Pegasus Mail and the ISP server in order to do AV checking when downloads of email messages are required.

Hi, I have been using Mozilla as my main mail software, I have been looking for a secondary mail program for a different mail recipients so I would like to give Pegasus a try. My question is regarding Pegasus and a proxy server, I need this as I do not want my mails to be hacked and I have been told you can use a proxy to do this.

Any idea if Pegasus has this feature, has some one tried this, what proxys are recommended Thunderbird has this option in the setup but as my main email program I do not want to mess it.

Also could I use Mercury as a mail list server.

Best regards,

You do not want your mails to be hacked? What does this mean, exactly? You will be aware that a publicly-transmitted, unencrypted e-mail is no more secure than a postcard. The mail store on your computer is only as secure as your PC is, both physically and from a software point of view. Your ISP mail store is only as secure as the ISP is competent.

Pegasus, like any mail client, can be configured to connect to any server you wish. It is up to you to know the settings required for that particular server and to understand the potential problems with the service and setup you choose.

Mercury is absolutely capable of being used as a mailing list server and has powerful and useful options. I suggest you download it and read the manual or help files - they're very good.
