What have you selected in Tools | Options | Hyperlinks?  If you have selected "Use URLPROXY.EXE" this program could be causing the crash.

<style> body {font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Arial Unicode MS"; }</style>I have used Pegasus Mail for many years with no problems.
After receiving what appeared to be a suspect (though never opened) message from Facebook,
my Pegasus Mail crashed every time I tried to open the mail program. An online tech from Geek
Squad, without permission, deleted the entire Pegasus program and installed a new one. My
many many folders had to be recovered from my backup on Mozy.  This took many hours.

Now, clicking any hyperlink received in an email message crashes Firefox (my default browser)
crashes Firefox (Message: Firefox has encountered a problem and has to close)

Also, now I cannot access a PDF attachment received in Pegasus Mail.Same failure message as above but substituting Adobe.

I have downloaded the spamfliter patch as some have recommended, and I am not using the proxy url.

Help! Anyone have any ideas?

What problem exactly? Did it work properly on Windows 7 before? Have you tried with your AV scanner disabled?

Hi

Thanks for the fast reply.

Pegasus has worked without fault in Windows 7 for about 18 Months it only started doing this about a week ago.

My problem is when clicking any hyperlink received in an email message Firefox (my default browser)
crashes and then returns this Firefox Message: (Firefox has encountered a problem and has to close).

Also when I try to print a message using a Foxit PDF printer it crashes my copy of Foxit Phantom.

No I have not tried it without my AV I will give it a try and see what happens.

I don't really understand why Pegasus Mail would cause other applications to crash, this is usually an issue other developers need to fix. I regard it as rather likely that another application like an AV scanner causes this because they usually "inject" themselves into the system or other applications for doing their job so they may affect any other application running on your machine. BTW: Adobe's PDF printer is well known for causing trouble when used with Pegasus Mail, see this thread.
