Messages not deleting when deleted from Search folders

Under Tools | options | Incoming Mail | Folder Behaviours there is a check box setting (second last) to delete from linked folder when deleted from search.

I'm new to Pegasus and still learning my way around.  Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

I have 2 mailboxes loaded and I'm doing searches across all folders.  The searches show up under "Recent Searches" and I can click on them and see all the messages.

I want to be able to delete the messages (no matter where they came from) by deleting them from the search.  I used to get a pop-up box saying something about the Search folders actually just being links to the items and if you want to delete the item you have to hold down Shift.  That is what I was doing, thinking the items were being deleted from their original location (no matter which mailbox they came from).  However, when I went back to double check the work, the messages were still in the original place.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I am surprised that nobody has answered your question.  It must be something to do with the fact that the Search folders are link folders:  if you delete one you get a warning message that tells you so and that deleting one leaves the original message alone. But somebody else should come along with a more  precise answer.

I can't reproduce this behaviour. For me, it works exactly the way it's supposed to work. In Tools | Options | Incoming mail | Folder behaviours there is a setting that you can use to tell Pegasus what to do when deleting a search result. When I checked this option, deleting the link also deleted the original message. When I had it unchecked, clicking the delete button while holding down Shift also deleted the original message.

Cheers!
