Opening Pegasus v. 4.52 (Win 32) persistent annoyance

[quote user="Thomas R. Stephenson"]

I looked here and could not find a similar topic header, so I'm asking

if anyone has a solution to this.  What I wish is for Pegasus to open

*without* opening a message 1 (or 2 or 3, or whatever) without my asking

for it.

Your shortcut is not running winpm-32.exe but wsend.exe.  Change your shortcut to run the program.

Fabulous!  Thanks heaps!  But it begs the question: How did I not notice that?  Oh well...

No wonder I couldn't find an off switch in the preferences  [:S]

Every time I open the application, it automatically opens a message (numbered 1) as well.  At this point, I have to open Read new mail from the File menu and then select the message with the small button on the lower toolbar to close it (it rarely starts minimized enough to be able to access the red X button).  This seems a bit odd and I am wondering if I am just being thick or is there not a way to prevent the application from opening a message upon start?
