Hello all,
My Mercury/32 v4.72 running on Windows Server 2003 have a problem when processing delivery confirmation requests.
Steps leading to problem:
In the Mercury server create an alias, i.e. alias@domain.com, pointing to any address, i.e. real@anydomain.com (anydomain can be domain.com or any other domain)
In your favorite MUA configure an identity with alias@domain.com as e-mail address (I have tested with both Pegasus 4.52 sending directly to Mercury and Outlook 2007 connected to an Exchange Server 2007 which is relaying to Mercury).
Send a test message -requesting confirmation of delivery- to any address (i.e. any@domain.com) residing on the Mercury server.
What Mercury does on my system:
Puts the message in the recipient user (any@domain.com) mailbox
Sends a Delivery Confirmation message to real@anydomain.com
Creates a wrong job in the queue. The QCF file contains the Delivery of Confirmation message and the QDF file contains two "BA:" entries, one of which ("BA: Postmaster") seems to be incorrect (domain part is missing).
After remaining in the queue for an undetermined time, the job is processed and a delivery failure message is sent to the user designated as postmaster.
A bug? Can anyone reproduce this problem?.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
