possible to rename maiser?

Is it possible to rename maiser to something else in mercury.ini with notepad?
Admin instead of Maiser, or something similar?
Using Mercury/32  v4.01b.

 [Maiser]
Maiser:          Maiser   # 'Username' of mail server account
Helpfile:        C:\MERCURY\Mercury\MAISER.HLP   # Help sent on failed maiser requests
Lookupfile:      C:\MERCURY\Mercury\MAISER.LKP   # Format file for the 'lookup' command
Send_dir:        C:\MERCURY\Mercury\SENDABLE   # Directory for the 'send' command
Logfile:         C:\MERCURY\Logs\MAISER.LOG   # Mail server log file
Notify:          C:\MERCURY\Mercury\TMP   # Dir. for pending 'notify' commands
NoList:          N   # If 'Y', disable the 'list' command
Local_only:      Y   # If 'Y', local 'notify' commands only

You can rename it, but it mustn't be called postmaster, and neither admin if that is the account name you use for postmaster. It will be up to you to keep the name unique so it doesn't collide with any username or alias.

Upgrading to the current version of Mercury is highly recommended if the system is connected to the Internet.

Thanks for your reply Rolf.

I thought of upgrading to the latest version, however, I just took over this server as I started working for this new company.

They have quite a few domains and accounts on it and I don't want to rush into upgrading before I feel comfortable with Mercury and it's operations.

Is the installer capable of an upgrade without breaking anything or would I have to unistall old version, install new version and then re-setup everything?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you rely on any third-party daemons or addons it should be no problem just running the installer and selecting update. If you have a current backup you can always restore to the previous version - Mercury doesn't store any configuration data in other locations, everything is in the Mercury directory.

If you use the scheduling module (MercuryX) you will however need to get a small patch which isn't released yet. If so please post here or send me a private message and I'll provide you with it.

There are some exploitable vulnerabilities in version v4.01b so it would be sensible to update soonest.
