Composed Emails sending but staying open

Once in a while this might occur accidentally, but with every new mail? This is a rather weird case IMO ...

Starting today, any email I compose and send stays open.  Lower left says it is being sent and I have gotten acknowledgements from sent emails.  But I have to close them and delete them.  They stay in the queue box and resend multiple times.

 Any thoughts?

Found an empty queue posting so I deleted .pmo zero record and that seems to have solved the problem.
