Choice of web browser

Which Windows version do you use? I get the feeling now that only setting a browser as default at least once creates such entries - it isn't necessary to keep this setting, though.

Up until the last change in Pegasus, when I read an incoming email which had a web site in it and I then cliked on that site, it came up in Firefox (my prefered browser). Recently when I do this the web site comes up in Internet Explorer. What did I change or what was changed? How do I get is set back to use Firefox?

Thanks, R Bruce Curry

It depends on which browser is installed as your system's default browser, but if you don't want to use this one you may change your settings in Pegasus Mail on Tools => Options => Hyperlinks.

Thanks, your suggestion worked fine.

Thanks, your suggestion worked fine.

R. Bruce Curry

I have installed IE, Chrome and Firefox which is my default browser.

If I right click on a link, I have only IE and Chrome options. Firefox does not appear. If I choose Chrome, the links open OK.

If I right click the link, I go to a Windows explorer to the Pmail directory.

I cannot manage to open a link in Firefox directly.

In Hiperlinks options I tried "found Browser automatically" or giving the command line without success.

Any help will be appreciated.

Try changing the systems default browser to a different one (and test it) and back to Firefox, maybe this helps.

I know this thread is 3 years stale but I hope idw will pick up on this.

You did not answer perboe's question. I, too, have multiple browsers installed, perboe's three plus Edge and Vivaldi. R-click and only 2 of the 5 show. I use each of the 5 depending on the nature of the link. The question is: how to add the missing 3 to the R-click pop-up? Please don't reply relative to the default browser as that is not the issue, I am not L-clicking the link where the default would come into play. I want to select one of the 5.

His question was about invoking the default browser, hence my reply. For learning about how IERenderer figures out browser command lines and a possible fix see this thread.

Wow, finally breadcrumbs I could follow. Thank you.

I made the suggested registry entries shown in the referenced thread and the R-click popup now shows all my choices.
