I'm using Pegasus V5.42, Windows XP. I've had several crashes while trying to send large files. My personal address book with hundreds of irreplaceable addresses has disappeared. Using the XP search function, the only .pml file is a .lnk in \Documents & settings which leads nowhere. Search finds no .pm! files.[/quote]
First of all for scenarios like the above one it's helpful to have an application like
this one preinstalled (because saving anything after the fact might overwrite possibly recoverable files). Secondly for restoring address books from backups you need to open Pegasus Mail for looking up the path to your
home mailbox directory via its
Help => About Pegasus Mail => Info screen. After opening the respective directory in Windows you should shut down Pegasus Mail and copy the address book files (*.PMR & *.PM!) from your backup to it. This applies to all other mailbox files except PMAL.INI and CNM-files which need to go to the
new mail mailbox directory (which might differ from the
home mail mailbox).
