SMTP authentication problem, Mercury 4.72 Windows 7

Hi,

I experienced the MercuryX issue with Windows 7. (Mercury seems like running but doesn't exactly communicating in non-interactive mode.) Finally, I figured it out and solved it.

Still, I got a similar problem.  I use

  • Don't relay
  • Strict relaying
  • authenticated smtp users may relay

settings. And I got a text file in my C:\MERCURY folder includes a user-password pair as usual.

The problem is, MercuryS doesn't authenticate in non-interactive mode. When I end the process and rerun Mercury in interactive mode, it starts to authenticate.

 Any idea?

Have you patched MercuryX v4.72?   http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/patches/entry24194.aspx

Sure. I've patched. Actually, I never used MercuryX in this installation. So, I didn't care at first. Then, I patched it just to see what happens. Nothing changed.

Currently, I'm using the only solution known to me. I'm trying to run the system in interactive mode all the time.

Note: If I didn't change anything by mistake, same settings were running perfectly on XP. I cannot try it though as I formatted my XP installation.

Make sure there is a full path to the auth text file in mercury.ini (Auth_File : C:\Mercury\auth.txt). It could be that the working directory for the program is different when running non-interactive. A program restart may be required after this change.
