how to get gmail emails to My mailbox

Thanks a lot for the answers.

I prefer IMAP as sometimes I use a

browser to access my mailbox not from home. So if there is technically

impossible to have one new mail folder for POP3 and IMAP, let it be, it

will not deter me from Pegasus.

You can setup both POP3 and leave the mail on the server.  If you only download unread mail and not delete mail once downloaded then you can still See the mail in the browser.

But again the question: Is

there any chance to set up the filter FULLY automatically without

clicking to the gmail folder to execute the filtering?

No.  The filter can only be and open or close filter and so it does not see mail added to the mailbox after opening.

And if I add

another IMAP account to Pegasus, will it create a separate gmail folder

tree?

Yes, I currently have connected10 added mailboxes and IMAP4 accounts, each has their own tree in the folder listing.

Hi, newbie here. I try to set up Pmail the way that I get ALL my mails to My mailbox folder. I have a couple of identities, some Yahoo's, one gmail's. And the latter one gets emails to a separate folder. I want all the emails to land in My mailbox folder. How to do it? Thanks for any suggestions. Jack

How to do it? That's easier to configure than having your gmail mail end up in a different folder, so I wonder what your setup looks like, unless, which you didn't mention, you're retrieving your gmail via IMAP.

Cheers!

Thanks Steffan. Yes, indeed, I've forgotten to mention that gmail is retrieved via IMAP and Yahoo via POP3. (I run on Windows 7, if it matters). Do you know the solution? Thx. Jack

Since you're using both IMAP and POP, they end up in different new mail folders by definition. It seems to me that the only way you can have your mail end up in the same folders is by using mail filtering rules. Hope this helps.

Thanks, it works. One 'but' though: Is there any chance to set up the filter FULLY automatically? I configured IMAP folder to move everything to 'New mail' folder, but it works automatically only when the folder is opened. This means that I must click on the folder to evoke the filtering. But how to filter without opening IMAP folder??? Is there such functionality in Pegasus?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but why don't you download the gmail account via POP3 like the yahoo?

The last response is the correct answer to your problem. With IMAP, you don't download your messages as such. You're simply seeing what is currently stored on the server and sending instructions on whether to move the messages or delete them or whatever. With POP, you do actually move the message off the server and onto your PC.
