Changing the Order of My Identities List

In addition to <Default>, I have 7 different identities/email addresses.  All are set up correctly and work fine, but have grown like topsy over the last 7 years.  The ones I use most frequently are now at the bottom of the drop-down list.  For instance, if my identities are named 1 through 7, I want to reorder the drop-down list to 6, 7, 3, 4, 1, 2, 5.  How can I reorder the list?  I am comfortable with editing text files, so if there is a particular .ini file I should look at, that's no problem.

Thanks for any insight you can give me!

Take a look at PMAIL.INI in your new mail directory, specifically the section [Pegasus Mail for Windows - Identities]. Though I haven't tried this I assume you may achieve reordering the ID list therein (shut down Pegasus Mail and create a backup copy before trying).

Open the pmail.ini in the new mail directory with an ASCII type editor (Notepad) when Pegasus Mail is not running.  Edit the following section to put the identities in the order you wish.  You might want to save a copy in case things go wrong.  I did this sort of editing some time back with mine.

[Pegasus Mail for Windows - Identities]
Name = AOL
Name = Cheatum
Name = Dell
Name = DDG-8
Name = DD783
Name = Donna
Name = dyndns
Name = Fastmail
Name = GMail
Name = High bit Personal
Name = Kalu
Name = Newham
Name = Novell POP3 User
Name = Squirrel
Name = Stephens
Name = TechSupport
Name = test
Name = Thomas
Name = Ubunto
Name = Wefald
