Our Pegasus Mail executable folder is a hidden folder but all users have
Write permissions
Is this required for anything?
Goes back many years but I recall a recommendation that a network install like ours requires users to have write permissions to the executable folder and full permissions to all users newmail folders.
which has me wondering if a user can disable
IEControl for all users by turning off Use IEControl.
If the above is true they can. But if you put a copy of BearHtml.ini into any user's (home) mailbox directory it takes precedence over the global one and the latter cannot be modified by these users anymore. (I'm just rethinking whether it would be better to place it into their newmail directory (which won't currently work) as you can only have a single one and it cannot be changed or "multiplied" like the home mailbox directory - so this may still be subject to change).
I lost you. Are you saying that a copy of the Beahtml.ini in each users home mailbox directory (which is the same as their newmail directory) will take precedence over the one in the executable directory?
What exactly happens when IEControl is disabled? Is it disabled for the open message only or for all messages until it is enabled? Is there any HTML rendering when it's disabled?
Also, must IE be the default browser for IEControl to work or must it simply be installed.
The libraries installed by IE must be available, the IE application itself isn't even required nor needs to be the default browser.
Gotcha.
