I've used Pegasus for a couple of days now and it seems to be fixed. I set both addresses to be the exact same and all seems to work. [+o(] Hope it continues.

This is a first. I searched the archives but could find nothing similar. This just started about 10 minutes ago.

 I downloaded new mail from the server and when I went to open the "New Mail" folder  got a crash-report box. I agreed to let it send the report and the program closed.

I then went back and re-opened Pegasus but each time I click on "New Mail" folder it crashes. If I open the "Folders" folder or click on the "New Mail" icon in the toolbar it crashes either way. When the "Folders" folder is displayed it shows 2 new messages in green but I can't get to them.

 I hope this didn't hurt anything but I went to a backup and copied the "Pmail" folder from the backup over the "Pmail" folder on the C drive but that did nothing, the crashes continue and so I am back here.  [:(]

 Any advice would be appreciated because I'd really like to be able to open and receive email!

Well, I read the two posts you referenced but now I have new problems. I removed the *.CNM files from my PMAIL folder but when I attempted to replace them one at a time to see which one crashes Pmail (as one post suggested), I get a box asking for a user name and then then tells me the person I am trying to become does not exist and I now cannot even get into Pegasus!

 Not sure what I've done but I've screwed up Pmail worse. I do have recent backups (I do it 3 times each week) and I've got October 2 and October 4 saved so I can use those if I just knew what the heck to do with it! I've got backups that I don't know what to do with so I don't do myself much good. [:@]

OK, I read Thomas' post and changed the PCCONFIG.EXE as he states. That got me back to where I can at least open Pegasus and then it worked as if I was doing a new install. All my previous folders were gone and the default folders that show up on a new install were there. All my settings had changed.

I'm sure (I hope!) this shouldn't be a problem because, as I wrote, I have recent full backups. I figured putting the backup into the C:\PMAIL\MAIL folder would make Pegasus restore its existing folders/ files, etc.

Where did I go wrong?

Sounds like you set the wrong path using PCONFIG so it doesn't point to your most recent mailbox directories. Just a guess ...

At this point it looks like it's fixed. I hope ... I'll wait a day or so to mark it "Solved".

 One question: Should the 'Home' mailbox and the 'New' mailbox have the same address? As in C:\PMAIL\MAIL\ADMIN for the HOME mailbox and the NEW mailbox being the same except without the "ADMIN" on the end?

I haven't received any new mail to see what happens [:|] so I don't know where it will go!

The default is to have both point to the (exactly) same directory, not with and without the user name (ADMIN in this case). Here's another post showing samples.
