On checking, a bounce does seem to not show the symptoms.
In preview mode, with an empty message queue:
1. Forward a message with editing'. On comleting the procedure, a 'message sent successfully' text appears at bottom of window, but there is no '1 queued' message, and the message does not appear in the 'file/review queued messages' window. button, and in fact, the message has not been sent, but if you reopen the 'review queued messages' window it is there, and a 1'queued' message then appears at the bottom of the window.
2. If you forward one message, then without opening the 'review queued mesages' window immediately select a second message to forward, then add the forwarding address, then when you press the 'forward' button in the addressing section, a '1 queued' notification appears, and on completing the spell check of the second message, a '2 queued' message, and a repeated 'message sent successfully' text apears. However, still neither message appears when you first open the 'review queued messages' window, nor have they actually been sent. But if you reopen the 'review queued messages window, then they are both there.
The worst thing about this is that whether they are shown or not you have to manually send forwarded messages to send them successfully even though you have had a mesage to say its been done. My preference would be to have to send them as a positive action like any other message, but they should always show up in the queue and in the notification at the bottom of the window so that they don't get forgotten about, as has often happened when I discover at close down that an important forwarded message has been sitting in the queue unsent all day.
It is little irritations like this that have often had me on the verge of switching to another email client. Another one is the confusion and the apparent 'sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't' surrounding deletion of an attachment from an incoming message. And when you look through the archives, you have probably had as many emails about how to move a copy of Pegasus with messages from one computer to another as anything else. Would it be possible to provide a basic 'migration tool' to move or copy PMAIL and all messages from //here: to //there: ? I got my original copy of Pegasus off a computer magazine cover disk when I was a complete beginner. If you are planning a promotion like that for version 5.0, then I think it has to be more idiot proof than it is now, or the casual newcomer will try it out and then move on. if you want to build a groundswell of home-based users then I think that is more important than flashy graphics and layout. Dedicated techies have a different p.o.v. I know !*?
BTW: [:)] I couldn't insert anything in this reply box until after I had inserted a smiley from the menu. I am using Opera10.62 (like some others, I consider using anything Microsoft to be sinful - but unfortunately Vista Business with SP2 comes with the machine.)
Thanks for your attention.
