mercury config in a non netware environment

For Pegasus/Mercury setup this should be a good starting point:

Usernames in Mercury/32 is always just a simple name like jdoe. If the server handles multiple domains and you need to specifically connect it with one of them you will need to create aliases as well.

The installer will guide you to a reasonable starting setup if you read all texts carefully. Consult the included manual if you need more details about something, or post your questions here. Without full information about your environment there isn't much more to say at this time, there are so many different ways of doing things.

Mercury has no native support for Active Directory in the present version. There is an unofficial AD dll created by one of the beta test members, but it has not been released as a production level component yet.

I am migrating away from a novell config.

I have copied the data from the old server, and configured the mail settings in mercury.

the issues that I am having are

under manage local users username is the name of the directory that the mail is housed is the personal name the email address prefix as in jdoe for jdoe@abc.com

I was using aliases before in netware mode jdeo@abc.com  = .jdoe.retail.ny, do I stil need this and what would I set it appears that I don't need to configure this anymore.

lastly pegasus how do I configure it.  I currently have a shared diectory for pegasus that everyone got their attributes for their personal mail directory from netware, how do I setup pmail for the users do I need to install on each computer? and then how do I point them to the mail directory on the server or do I have to go to pop/smtp mode?

thanks
