OK.... Not good.
Closed down Peg, moved all "Bear*.*" files out to a temporary folder.
Downloaded the 4.6.9 update, unzipped that into the main Pmail folder (where the old files were) also the contents of the matching BearSupport.zip (as I think that is what I did before).
Start Peg, find one of the HTML mails and open it. In Plain Text mode OK, but as soon as I change view to "fancy", crash, and Peg dies too.
It's not even a mail full of pictures, just text with different fonts.
Anyway, for now, I've re-instated 4.6.3.0 BearHTML files, and it's working again.
I'm using Peg V 4.52, on Windows 2000 Pro. The PC has 1.5G of Ram, and a 1.8G P4 CPU, also 80G of drive, it's permanently net connected via the trusty DG834GV2 router, and just sits there 24/7 most weeks, ticking along nicely.
Interestingly, the "maintenance" today, was a run of Spinrite on the hard drive, no reason, just I'd not done it for over a year. No issues found. Memtest86 has been run recently and likewise, no RAM issues found.
I can live with these minor wrinkles (I have done for many years!) and will not stop using Peg just because of this (I've been a Peg user, since the Windows 3x days) but if anyone wants to help find out what and why, and fix it, your welcome to ask me to test things. However, due to work and other commitments, a responce may not be immediate.
Cheers.
Dave B.
PS: I have problems with Gmail and SSL these days too. It used to work flawlessly, but I think another app, has stomped all over the OpenSSL libraries. For now one issue at a time eh...
