Problems using -ROAM switch from USB shortcut

I've migrated my Pegasus installation from desktop PC to USB flash drive using these steps but I have problems creating a shortcut on the stick to open Pegasus with the -ROAM setting. The shortcut uses absolute paths which most likely differ when the USB flash drive is plugged in elsewhere and I cannot set any relative path cause Windows XP does not accept those. So how do I call up Pegasus maximized from the stick with the parameter -ROAM set? I've used .bat file as a workaround but it looks tacky and honestly, I really don't know why in the meatime the ini hasn't been changed to accept variables like %app_path% or something...
