Original text missing in reply or forward
I often want to forward these emails and am unable to.
Either bounce or forward as attachment.
Another frustration is that if I paste in formatted text, it looks okay before I send but when received, the formatting is all over the place.
I have no idea what you're trying to say here: What does the formatting is all over the place mean?
Even using bullets in Pegasus, when the email is viewed in Pegasus, it does not display the bullets.
Do you have Tools => Options => Message formatting => Disable all text styling options enabled? And do you have Tools => Options => Message reader => Where a choice of formats exists, display the fancy version enabled? You may want to change one or the other ...

When I forward an email or reply to it, the first (say) 20 lines of the original appear at the foot of the email but the rest just disappears.

So the recipient doesn't receive the whole of the forwarded email.

I've now checked and before I press the send button, the whole of the email is not in the body of the email to send so the problem is definitely on my machine.

Can anyone offer any tips please?.....

Am using Pegasus Mail 4.52

If it mostly affects HTML text it's most probably an issue with overlong lines (partly in violation of common rules for email applications). For replies you can work around this by selecting all text (Ctrl + A) before replying so Pegasus Mail prompts you whether to reply to the selected text only (click "yes"), but the formatting will be lost. If the text display is already truncated you may try the (reader's) plain text view, if that doesn't help there's only the raw view left. When forwarding try forwarding as attachment to a new message (see the respective options in the forwarding dialog).

Same problem over here...

most part of the mail disappears when :

 • i try to forward a mail with 'Edit or make changes to the message before forwarding them'
 • I print this mail

Forwarding this mail without editing is no problem.
For replies you can work around this by selecting all text (Ctrl + A)
this is not a option for forwarding mails...

any other suggestions ?

My issue also.  Seems to be getting much worse.  Dropping lots of text.  In Plain text, it all shows but in HTML text, it only shows the portion that finally ends up in the reply.

Makes me think that Pmail is trying to use HTML formatting for the reply.  There use to be a selection for HTML formatting but it seems to be gone in 4.51.

Settings are still there in 4.51/4.52, three of them. When 4.61 becomes available download and install that as it has fixes for most, but not all, of long lines and HTML problems- within allowed limits of SMTP mail and RFC5322  Must limits and Should limits in some cases too. Messages that are properlly encoded are only 64 chars wide anyhow during transit.

FWIW, this only started happening to me when I moved to a Windows 7 platform.  My workaround has been to return to the original message and copy/paste the missing portion.  It works, but is tedious and shouldn't be necessary.  It does seem to happen only with html text, but that's what *everybody* sends these days, thanx to MS-LookOut.

My first ever message group response. I fixed this exact problem in Pegauss 4.51 (Win 32) June 23, 2009, version by doing the following: Go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, INCOMING MAIL, MESSAGE READER, and remove the CHECK from "Where a choice of format exists, disply the fancy version."  Existing messages can then be printed or forwarded properly!

Your solution will only work if the message actually contains an alternative plain text version which isn't always the case.

I'm now using 4.61 and this problem is still occurring. As most people are now using MS Outlook, a lot of emails are coming in HTML format. I often want to forward these emails and am unable to. For example, I receive confirmation of a flight booking in HHTML but I cannot forward it. Another frustration is that if I paste in formatted text, it looks okay before I send but when received, the formatting is all over the place. Even using bullets in Pegasus, when the email is viewed in Pegasus, it does not diplsay the bullets. I'm sorry to say that as much as I want to continue to use Pegasus, I think I will be forced to convert to MS Outlook.
