PLAIN TEXT SIGNATURE WHEN I WANT FORMATTED CONTENT

When I send email to myself as a test, Pegasus honors the formatting in the signature except the image which appears as a grey box.
That's because Pegasus suppresses images by default. If you right-click in the body of the message, you'll see an option "Show pictures (HTML only)". If you select this option, you'll see the graphic.
Provided the signature (or message) contains remote (linked) images this is true, otherwise there must be something else involved ... Make sure the image you select for your signature is displayed in the signature editor before saving and closing, you sometimes need to load images twice for succeeding.

I just installed Pegasus 4.52 on my PC running Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.  I have created a signature using the Pegasus signature editor and initially used the Internet Address: formatted content option.  The signature uses a hyperlink with a png file, three text lines, and a final text hyperlink.  I saved it and checked the boxes to add it upon message creation.  When I create a message, the signature is present and looks just the way I created it.  When I send the message to myself, the signature comes out in plain text.  I also sent it to my gmail account and it is also in plain text.

I copied and pasted the same signature into a Local Address: formatted content variant with the same results.

Does anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks

Tom Bell

Just a guess, is the "Rich text" button selected when you send the mail.  If this is not checked you will send plain text only.  BTW, the graphic cannot be a hyperlink, the graphic file must be loaded into the signature.

Thanks Thomas,

I found that radio button and it fixed the problem.  I now get formatted signatures when composing and my recipients get a formatted signature.  When I send email to myself as a test, Pegasus honors the formatting in the signature except the image which appears as a grey box.  This is trivial so I am satisfied the problem is solved.  Once again, thanks for your quick response.

That's because Pegasus suppresses images by default. If you right-click in the body of the message, you'll see an option "Show pictures (HTML only)". If you select this option, you'll see the graphic. And in mail folders, you can select addresses and add them to the "Allow remote graphics list", so that next time you receive an email from that address containing pictures you'll see them right away.

Cheers!
