SugarCRM Imap

Fortunately this is just a test account with nothing important in it and will be deleted when everything works.  This was the only session that occurred when I logged into Sugar.  This confirms my suspicions that the problem is Sugar.

Thanks

Has anyone any experience making Mercury imap email work with SugarCRM?  We have been able to receive emails through Sugar's email interface, however it appears to be stripping attachments.  The latest versions of Sugar have dropped support for POP3 so that is not an option any more.

I've not heard of any problems with that particular client.  One thing you can do to trace this is to turn on session logging in the MercuryI module to capture the raw transaction and see if there is any issue ocurring.  (Go to Configuration / MercuryI IMAP server and check the session box and ensure there is a directory filled in.  The logs will be named TCPnnnn.MI - beware of bare passwords and the size of the log files.)

I was hoping someone else had actually tried it, anyway ...  Sugar tech support is of course blaming Mercury, but that was expected.  The Sugar Imap client does not retrieve new mail when you click on 'Check mail' and only finds new mail if you use 'Syncronize' which is the first clue to me that it has a problem.    The following log is from the transaction that occurs when I click 'Syncronize' in Sugar after a new mail with a small PDF attachment is waiting.  Our domain and phone numbers has been changed  in the following logs.  Sorry it took a while, there are other things going on at the moment.

Firstly, you will need to change your password because you didn't fully blank it out in the log you posted.

And at first sight there doesn't appear to be an attachment transferred with the message, so if that is the complete and only log associated with the message, that is a problem.  (IMAP messages can be spread over several Mercury session logs because the connection can be closed and reopened several times - it all depends on the client.)

(Edit - added)

A quick search of the SugarCRM user forum shows that stripping attachments has been a problem for some time.  I would take it up there.
