New user - many buggy things (errors ?) and uncertainties.

Thanks.

I've read the in-program help as well as the PDF and found no useful into.

I also allowed it to create what it wants and that did not help at all.

Not being able to choose an account and it's associated SMTP server is a real bust; it is not even mentioned anyplace that I can find.

In the year 2011 I suspect many people have more than one email account on different servers and use multiple SMTP settings so this is a very important need.

I am severely disappointed in the lack of functionality (or just the sheer confusion) in trying to use this very mature, long-standing, time-honoured program.

Hi Folks.

I should have started using Pegasus YEARS ago - and was only today reminded to use it because of the desperate NEED to do selective email downloading brrought on by Gmails utter failure to acknowledge the importance of folders and the ability to organize emails...and because it is now portable...and here I am.

Mostly I am very impressed by how competent Pegasus is, and it's huge feature set.

It is doing some very odd things though and I hope I can easily get some guidance in fixing them, please.

I installed it as 'roaming' on a USB stick which is exactly what the help said to do.

When I open it I get an error that looks like this:1st error

I click 'no' and it clears, THEN this one pops up - TWICE !!!:2nd error

I click 'OK' (TWICE) and it clears - Then Pegasus opens normally and perfectly.

In trying to use it I have found another thing which seems very convoluted: I have set ip up initially for one Gmail  and one GMX.com address - and when I reply to my test message I can fin no way to select which account I am replying FROM and it defaults to using the Gmail account always - how does one set/change this ?  (I tried the 'identity' thing, but all it does is create some unusable thing which has no settings that I can find...?)

I have a bunch of email accounts for different usages with different people and such and NEED to reply to emails which come to -THAT- account using -THAT- account as the source and not a random or default account.

Hopefully someone here will be willing to help me eliminate the above errors and make this work as I need it to - I have high hopes for it as my new default email client !

Maybe just creating a home mailbox could solve most of your issues, how about trying? There's also a manual (PDF file) with lots of detailed instructions in Pegasus Mail's program directory.
