Cannot get Pegasus to connect

Well, I finally got Pegasus to connect to the server. But the downloaded emails disappear into the ether! I have no "incoming mail" folder. Additionally, I now get a message - "the user you are attempting to 'become' does not exist on this machine!!!

How do I re-create myself, PLEASE?

I have been using Pegasus forever! Two weeks ago I installed a new modem/router and since then I have been unable to have it connect to the Mail server. I even tried a 'clean' install and setup of 4.52 but still cannot access the server. My laptop still works.

What am I doing wrong? Please,

Jim Campbell

I suspect that your modem/router has a firewall that is blocking Pegasus or at least the ports Pegasus attempts to connect to (typically 25 and 110), so I suggest you check your firewall settings. The IP number of routers is typically 192.168.0.1. If it asks for a password, it is usually 'admin'. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Have tried all that Steffan, thanks. I just cannot get Pegasus to 'connect' to my isp any more on this machine. It works on my laptop using the same modem router!

How about providing a session log (Tools => Internet Options => General at the bottom), please absolutely read Pegasus Mail's online help about how-to and precautions before doing so!

Silly question: You have already checked the router/modem how about the software firewall on you new machine?

If you can connect via a web browser on the machine in question, that would seem to indicate network connectivity is good. makes me think it is a local software firewall or Win7 permissions.
