Printing from the wrong paper tray

Changing the print settings doesn't help. Well, normal settings didn't help. I did find a setting under Printing Preferences, Page setup,  Print options to "Disable the paper source setting of the application software". This solved the problem for PMail, but I don't know if it will come back to bite me for other applications. I'm hoping that the driver will still select the sheet feeder for photo paper without the application specifying the paper source.

I would call this a bug in PMail, since this problem has been around for years.

I had this problem with my Canon iP4000, the paper cassette was the default paper source but Pegasus insisted on using the sheet feeder. The iP4000 went belly up and I replaced it with a Canon MX870. Same thing select the cassette and it tries to print from the sheet feeder. All other programs seem to work correctly. Searching the forum shows this problem has existed for years? Has anyone figured out a real fix?

The iP4000 was USB connected, the MX870 is on the network. Pegasus 4.52 is running on XP Pro SP3. I don't remember having the problem with Win2k with the iP4000 connected to LPT1.

Are you sure Pegasus doesn't allow you to change the Print settings. If you type Ctrl+P, you get a window with a Printer setup option at the bottom right-hand corner. Have you tried changing the settings there? Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Create a printer where the default device is using the paper cassette and then use this one for printing from Pegasus Mail.
