You stated in reply and to Michael asked about preview or list mode among other things.
You stated new default install to c:\pmail location.
A new complete install, not as an update, would place files into c:\pmail with winpm-32.exe being in c:\pmail\programs location and mail boxes in c:\pmail\mail\<username> with c:\pmail\maiil\admin being created by default. A new complete install, unless later changed, would be in preview mode by default too.
The path you showed has bee altered or customized along the way manually. It is no longer a default install as shown so just copy of data from one install and paste to another install does not work. I know and had a hard lesson in that myself a few days ago. To restore your data only the subdirs below \mail\ should be copied over. Anything above that involves path information and configuration. It is even possible to have had winpm-32 and related files present in two location and paths, one set in c:\pmail and one in c:\pmail\programs locatons.
Where are the actual *.pmm message folder files located when doing a search or dir from command prompt starting at c:\pmail and /s to recurse. Do cd c:\pmail and then dir *.pmm /s/p
Then copy or take note of full path to the folder files and companion .pmi file of same name. The new mail messages are not in folders yet and are the *.cnm files in cL\pmail and below. Same thing again, Do c:\pmail and dir *.cnm /s/p and record that also Are they in one or two locations? They should match what is shown in Help, About, Info for new mail location.
It is possible configuration was picked up, and paths, from a formerlly run install or another install attempt. The pmail.ini file records the last run information and that file is viewable with plain text editor ssuch as notepad. The time there sill be the last configuration save time, may be different from the curent date stamp of the OS. Pegasus Mail does not change or overwrite existing data it finds, only reads it, but all c:\pmail and below must not be marked read only attribute by the OS. If so the R attribute must be manually removed from the files for use.
Bring some more info back and let us ponder this thing again and in more depth. We need to see or have some way to reproduce what you are experiencing.
